Fabulous Proms Week At The Bell!

Our hosts had also gathered together over 40 waifs and strays from their regulars, knocked them into shape for over 5 weeks of rehearsals and The Bell Proms Choir was ready for action on Saturday night – for The Bell’s own Last Night of the Proms!

The choir serenaded us with Toto’s Africa, then Vaughan Williams’ spine-tingling Dona Nobis Pachem, before we all joined in with Madness favourite It Must Be Love. Amazing what they have achieved from scratch – hope we can hear from them again…………

They were accompanied by the brilliant Brackley and District Brass Band, who packed onto the pub garden stage and kicked us off with the traditional Proms build-up.
By then the band had the great crowd suitably fired up to belt out all the Proms favourites and really believe that we are a Land of Hope & Glory and Will Never Be Slaves…………

There was a rousing finale of Auld Lang Syne as everyone showed their heartfelt appreciation of all the work Michelle and Rhys had put in to bringing a bit of culture and huge enjoyment to their splendid pub.
