Friends of St Mary’s Church Adderbury (FOSMA)
FOSMA was formed in March 2009. Its aim is to raise money for the repair and upkeep of the fabric of our beautiful village church. Since its formation it has become a registered charity which enables it to reclaim tax back via the Gift Aid scheme.
It is the Parochial Church Council who sets the agenda for ongoing maintenance and we work closely with them to help provide as much funding as possible. To date over £150,000 has been raised by holding a series of successful, enjoyable and varied events and from generous donations and membership fees.(For future events please see ‘What’s On’ on www.adderbury.org). Some of the funds raised have been spent on the renovation of the Lychgate, the repair of the wood panelling near the War Memorial and an ambitious and much-admired project providing a new wrought iron gate at the south porch church entrance. The two south windows have also been beautifully renovated. With the help of a very generous donation, improvements to the heating system are being investigated.
