Adderbury History Association – 19 October

Melanie King will give a talk in The Institute about The Hidden Ice Houses of Oxfordshire – doors open at 7.15 pm and her talk starts at 7.30 pm. It was not only in Adderbury that great households in the 18th and 19th century went to extraordinary lengths to preserve perishables and impress their guests with out of season delicacies.  Melanie will tell how ice was a symbol of wealth, status and technological ambition. Visitors welcome at £5.00.
