THE ADDERBURY UKULELE GROUP
In 2015, a small number of ukulele players formed a group at The Bell Inn and met each week to play songs for fun. As requests for the group to entertain at functions started, they produced their own music books and word books for the audience. They also advertised, created a website, and started beginner lessons. Many new players joined, including a bass player, but with so many people wanting to learn and attend classes, the numbers have grown to over 50. Squeezing into the back room at the pub proved difficult, so reluctantly they decided to enquire about larger premises and were offered the Adderbury Bowls Club where they have just moved. They would like to thank Chris and Sandra at The Bell for their fabulous support over the last few years.
The group now meets every Monday evening at the Adderbury Bowls Club, where adults and teenagers of mixed abilities enjoy an evening strumming and singing popular songs. They also play at various gigs including local care homes, meetings, and organised events, where they hand out song books for the audience to join in and sing. Early next year, they will start new classes for beginners. Please see their website for details, at: www.adderburyukes.co.uk.Website: http//www.adderburyukes.co.uk
