This is to let residents know the Lakes are closed, as a large number of fish have died over the past few days.
The Environment Agency have done tests. They have not yet reached any conclusion on the causes but think the most likely cause is a naturally occurring eco toxin which can be found in this type of lake during hot weather. Therefore, the PC and Lakes Management Team have decided to close the Lakes for the time being and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
