Thames Valley Police is warning residents in Cherwell & West Oxfordshire to be wary of unexpected telephone calls, claiming to be from banks or the police.
Recent calls have been received by residents in the area, claiming to be from a bank, or a police officer, asking for cash payments.
Please be vigilant and make sure that you never give out your bank details over the telephone.
Please pass this information on to any elderly or vulnerable friends, neighbours and family.
No-one from the police or banks etc will ever telephone people to ask them to transfer or hand over cash.
Please report any incident to the police immediately on 101.
