Oxfordshire libraries are pleased to announce the eBook short story competition is to run for its ninth year. The competition continues to demonstrate how libraries support writing talent and at the same time promotes the popular eBook service. It has also been a very positive impact on the winning authors, with many telling how winning has boosted their confidence or how they overcame obstacles to be able to write and submit their stories.
This year’s competition will open for entries from Tuesday 3 January. Full details, including instructions for submitting a story, are now on the website. The closing date for entries is Sunday 26 February. The prize for the winners in each category (children 7-11, young adult 12-17 and adult 18+) is to have their stories published in eBook and eAudio formats, and featured on Overdrive during 2023-24. The winning stories from 2022 have issued well and are currently featured on the Overdrive homepage.
