16 December – North Cotswold Chamber Choir Christmas Concert will be performing in St Mary’s Church starting at 7.30 pm.  The North Cotswold Chamber Choir is delighted to Adderbury for its perennially popular Christmas concert. ‘The Waiting Sky’ will provide plenty of opportunities for the audience to get involved, a smattering of thoughtful and humorous readings, and a rich variety of familiar and new festive music including Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols’ in an arrangement for full choir. Sarah Tenant-Flowers, our principal conductor, will be at the helm for the evening. Tickets at £15 – £12 concessions – 18 and under £8 are available from Adderbury Stores,  or on the door.

17 December – vOx Chamber Choir will perform Handel’s masterpiece, “Messiah” in St Mary’s Church starting at 5.00 pm.  Now a cornerstone of a choral Christmas, it will be sung by one of Oxford’s premier choirs, described as having “a luscious sound – wonderful blend, commitment and discipline”, and accompanied by The Musical and Amicable Society, a “first-rate period-instrument band”. 20 December – Adderbury Cine Club presents a free showing of ‘Despicable Me 3’ in The Institute starting at 4.00 pm. Gru meets his long-lost charming, cheerful, and more successful twin brother Dru who wants to team up with him for one last criminal heist.


21 December – Voices Across Time return this Christmas in partnership with FOSMA to take you on a journey to discover the history of Christmases past through songs,music and theatre.   The evening will start at 7.30 pm in St Mary’s Church.  Come and be transported to the 15th Century through the psalms of the high order, hear the Christmas songs of the rebellion when Christmas was banned by the Puritans, re-live the Christmas Truce of WW1 where Christmas united two sides at war and continue the journey to the modern day where Christmas took on a new meaning of glitz and glamour.  There will be a bar available throughout the evening as well as mince pies and Christmas cake.  Tickets cost £12 from Trish Fennell 01295 811059 and or Victor Ince on   Please visit Voices Across Time for more information on this event.

31 December – Join us at St Mary’s Church on at 6.00 pm for one of the most-loved traditional Christmas services. At this celebration of the Christmas story in words and music, there will be the opportunity to sing many of your favourite Christmas carols and to hear our fabulous new choir singing beautiful and festive anthems. So why not join us for an hour of Christmas joy before commencing your celebrations for New Year’s Eve?
