Grand Auction – 26 November

The Auction, with Auctioneer Simon Davies,  will take place at 6.00 pm in the Institute.  Items on a donations-only basis.  Viewing and items to be included for sale start at 4.00 pm.  There will be a bar and refreshments. Wine Tasting with ‘Slurp’ – 21 October

Join us for a Wine Tasting and Quiz at 7.00 pm in The Institute as we taste and talk our way through a selection of stunning wines from around the world. There will be a wine trade professional on hand to lead the discussion and answer questions, as your team competes in a ‘pub quiz’ style trivia competition. Wines also available to buy and there is a Bar available. £15 per person including light refreshments.  This is an Adderbury Community and  Sports Centre fundraising event.

Adderbury 2024 Calendar

Get busy and take photographs of anything you think that shows views/details of our village that you would like to see in a calendar.  Starting 1 August, the competition will run for 12 months, and winning photos will produce the Adderbury 2024 Calendar. Needle Cricket Match – 4 September

Adderbury cricket needs you. We might get our cricket field back one day but, in the meantime, we will have to make do with the 27th staging of the annual needle against the boys from Milton taking place in the Broughton and North Newington Cricket Club starting a 1.00 pm. Adderbury stormed to an impressive win in 2021 and this year we think we can really do the business again if we can get a passionate team of Adderburians with the odd tinge of talent. Adderbury History Association – 20 September

Stephen Oliver will give a talk on “St Mary’s, Adderbury: Its history and restoration” in The Institute at 7.15 pm for a 7.30 pm start. As the architect in charge of the most recent restoration, Stephen is uniquely well-placed to talk about the history of Adderbury’s parish church. Visitors are always welcome (cost £2.50).

‘Belfast’ – 9 September

Adderbury Cine Club will be showing ‘Belfast’ in the Institute. Doors open at 7.30 pm and the film starts at 8.00 pm. ‘Belfast’ directed and written by Kenneth Branagh and starring Judy Dench, Ciaran Hinds and Jude Hill, tells the story of a young boy and his working-class Belfast family experiencing the tumultuous late 1960s.
There is a bar selling wine, beer, soft and hot drinks. Tickets are free for full members, £3 for casual members and £7 for non-members.  Tickets can be booked
