Milton Road and Berry Hill Road – Traffic chicanes with signage and gates
Proposal is to install ‘give-and-take’ style chicanes at the entry points to Adderbury on Berry Hill Road and Milton Road, and to relocate the village ‘gates’ and 30mph commencement points to the same location for maximum impact. The Berry Hill Road chicane is to be installed under the first streetlight when heading from Oxford Road, and the Milton Road chicane is to be installed at a point approximately half way between the entrance to Ball Colegrave, and the proposed entrance to the new community sports facilities, adjacent to Henge Close.
Physical ‘give-and-take’ chicanes located at either end of the entry to the village on Berry Hill Road and Milton Road. These are simple, effective, self-managing traffic calming measures and meet OCC’s requirement for minimal maintenance. The APC preference is for physical obstructions on both sides of the road to reduce speeds in both directions.
