At the end of last term, we were delighted to be able to present our first Guide Gold award to Rebecca McLoone. This award is presented to a Guide who has completed all six of the Theme awards in Guides, and has completed a personal challenge. We celebrated her achievement with cake and balloons, and a slide show of her Guiding life – from her beginning as a Rainbow.
At the start of the summer holiday we went on our summer camp, which was a joint camp with Grimsbury Guides at Horley Scout campsite. The theme was Harry Potter, and we started with a sorting hat to put the girls into their patrols for the camp. Highlights were cooking over a wood fire, archery with Bob, face painting and a very successful campfire.
We’re now planning our new term of activities – the programme will be agreed with the Guides, and will include plenty of activities that they choose in their patrols, as well as some whole unit activities
We’re happy to welcome new members – we’re open to all girls aged 10 to 14 years. We meet on a Monday, 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm in the Lucy Plackett Activity Centre. For more information visit https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-for-parents/register-your-daughter/. This will allow you to register your interest and request to join one of the local Guide units (or Brownies or Rainbows).
