monolithsTen giant monoliths have appeared overnight in Church Lane to protect the grass verge. Smart work by Highways to erect them so quickly after the Parish Council had approved the project – must have had a spare bit of budget. But I rather thought they would be in keeping with those down Mill Lane- not the monstrosities now standing guard over this lovely part of the village. Can we get them cut down to size? Do you agree?

I totally agree with you Val. The bollards look really awful.
Bring back the large rocks to prevent cars driving on the grass.

Not sure when W Hepworth last checked but the bollards were dealt with quite a long time ago

I understand that the monoliths are going to be reduced to the same size as the Mill Lane version

Have Oxfordshire County Council gone completely bonkers as they have ruined
on of the most beautiful corners in Adderbury by erecting the most hideous
bollards on the corner of Church Lane a really pretty area of the village.Have they
slipped up here putting the wrong ones up. If they wish to protect their grass areas in the village
at least put up small bollards that match those in Mill Lane. These monoliths are horrible and
totally out of place in our village. Anyone got a chain saw!!!

Totally agree! They’re a real eyesore!
I am rather surprised that funds were available to put these up when there is apparently a complete dearth of funds to do something rather more useful and beneficial to the rest of the village!
